In Knox County there is an initiative to fight back against substance abuse. There is a group of dedicated people from all walks of life and corners of the community uniting to rise up against these unseen terrors. They are fighting back against addiction with prevention techniques, supporting those in recovery, and maintaining awareness about who can be affected and what can be done. They are the Knox Substance Abuse Action Team and they're here to help.
"Be a Parent, Not a Friend" is a vision of the Teen Advisory Council (TAC). TAC students identified alcohol abuse a problem of practice among their peers. With most drinking occurring on the weekends at home or a friend's house. With this knowledge they created characters and wrote a script. TAC students participated in lead roles, supporting cast as well as assisted with the production of this PSA.
